Privacy Policy

Plain English. No legalese.

This policy explains what information Hexadle collects, why we collect it, and how you can control it. If something is unclear, email us at feedback@hexadle.app and we will answer promptly.

1. Who we are

Hexadle is a daily iOS color-guessing game. When we say "Hexadle", "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we mean the developer of the Hexadle app.

2. What we collect, and when

If you play as a guest

Nothing is collected. Your game state (current guess, streak, past results) is stored locally on your device only. No account is created. No data leaves your device.

If you sign in with Apple

Sign in with Apple is entirely optional. When you choose to sign in, we store:

  • Display name: the name you choose to show on leaderboards (this can be a pseudonym; you set it in-app).
  • Anonymous user ID: a unique identifier generated by Apple that is specific to Hexadle. We never receive your real Apple ID email unless you explicitly choose to share it.
  • Gameplay statistics: games played, wins, current and longest streak, and your daily result for each puzzle (the guesses you made and whether you solved it).

This data is stored in our database hosted by Supabase (servers in the EU by default). Supabase processes data only as directed by us and does not use it for their own purposes.

3. Why we collect it

We use the information above for one purpose only:

  • Streak sync: so your streak and results follow you across your devices and survive an app reinstall.
  • Leaderboards: so you can compare your result with other players who opt in to the same.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

4. What we do not do

  • We do not run ads of any kind inside Hexadle.
  • We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for their own use.
  • We do not use analytics SDKs that fingerprint you (no Firebase Analytics, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel).

5. Purchases

All in-app purchases, including Hexadle Plus subscriptions and individual extra-guess packs, are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Your purchase history is accessible via your Apple ID.

6. Marketing communications

When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and an email address. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email" option, this is a private relay address rather than your personal email. We never see your real address unless you share it directly.

We will only send you marketing or promotional email, such as news, updates, and new features, if you explicitly opt in by enabling Email Updatesin the app's Settings. This setting is off by default, and we keep a record of your choice. We do not add you to any marketing list without this consent.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by switching Email Updates off in Settings, or by using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email. Withdrawing consent stops marketing email but does not affect essential service messages (for example, important account or security notices).

We store your email address and your consent preference securely with our hosting provider, Supabase. We do not sell your email address, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. If you delete your account (Profile → Delete Account), your email address and consent record are permanently removed.

The legal basis for sending you marketing email is your consent. If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data and to object to its processing. Contact us at feedback@hexadle.app to exercise these rights.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your account and all associated data can be deleted at any time from inside the app: Profile → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. We cannot recover it.

Guest players have no server-side data. Clearing the app or reinstalling it removes local data completely.

8. Children

Hexadle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify signed-in users via an in-app notice.
